About the Year of Story

The Year of Story is a living calendar reflecting the seasons, feast days, and rhythm of sacred time.

It gathers history, literature, poetry, and tradition into a unfolding year, rooted in the Southern Hemisphere and the traditional liturgical calendar.

This is not a program to complete, or a schedule to master.
It is an invitation to learn and live seasonally.

How to Read This Calendar

Begin with the season you are currently living in

Read one month, or wander freely
Return when the year turns, or when a feast calls you back
Let the stories mark time, rather than measure it

It’s midwinter. For some, it’s a quiet celebration

It’s midwinter.
For some, it’s a quiet celebration, marking the shift toward longer days and the slow return of summer.

But I’ve always found winter to be a season worth dwelling in, not rushing through. There’s something in the stillness, the changing colour of trees, the early dark that invites you to look inward.
